Tanzania, East Africa plantations grow the high quality sisal that Design Materials uses. This fiber comes from the long green leaves of the Agave plant. Each leaf produces around 1000 fibers they are washed, sun dried and brushed graded and baled. The rest of the plant is used to produce electricity. 

This floor covering is made entirely from natural plant fibers. There will be variations and irregularities in both the weave and color. These are totally inherent of using
natural plant fibers in weaving and do not constitute a defect in the carpet.
