Color Atelier | Base for Tadelakt - Shower Plaster

Color Atelier Base is a coarse, dry mix plaster product. It is designed to be used as a basecoat finish for Tadelakt wet area applications, and other plaster finishes, as needed. Base can also be used as a rough, interior or exterior matte plaster finish coat

32 lbs. will cover approximately 150 sq ft in 1 coat, 2 coats are necessary for application.

It requires the addition of only clean water for mixing. Product should be mechanically mixed to provide maximum workability. For each 32 lbs. of Base, you will need about 5 liters of clean water for mixing. Once the correct consistency is achieved use the mixed product right away, as it will remain workable only for a few hours.

Using a trowel apply on to surface with a thickness of 1/8" to 1/16". The first coat of Base must dry completely before applying the second coat of Base. Before the material dries completely trowel down to close up grain for a semi smooth state, even out any ridges and trowel lines.

For wet area Tadelakt application, over the substrate preparation and waterproofing membrane, 2 coats of Base, 2-3 coats of Tadelakt finish, and 2 coats of Wax-sealer would be applied.
